Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 2026
Alketbi & Partners (“the firm”, “we”, “us”) is an advocacy and legal consultancy practice based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. This policy explains how we handle personal data collected through this website.
This policy covers the website only. Personal data we process in the course of acting for a client is governed by our engagement terms and by the professional confidentiality obligations that apply to UAE advocates.
Data we collect
We collect personal data in two ways.
- Data you give us. When you submit an enquiry, we collect the information entered in the form: your name, organisation, email address, telephone number, your description of the matter, the estimated value or significance of the matter, its urgency, your preferred language, and any opposing party you name for conflict-checking purposes.
- Data collected automatically. Our hosting provider records standard server logs, which may include your IP address, browser type, referring page and the time of your request. These are used to keep the site available and secure.
Why we use it
- To respond to your enquiry and discuss whether the firm is able to act.
- To carry out a conflict-of-interest check before accepting instructions — a professional obligation, and the reason we ask for the opposing party.
- To meet our legal, regulatory and anti-money-laundering obligations under UAE law.
- To maintain the security and integrity of this website.
We do not sell personal data. We do not use enquiry data for marketing unless you have separately asked to hear from us.
Legal basis
We process enquiry data on the basis of your consent, given when you submit the form, and on the basis of our legitimate interests in responding to prospective clients and in meeting the professional and regulatory duties that apply to the firm. Where UAE Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021 on the Protection of Personal Data applies, we process personal data in accordance with it.
A caution about confidential material
Submitting an enquiry does not create a lawyer-client relationship, and information sent before we confirm that we can act may not attract the protection that applies to communications with a client. Please do not send confidential documents or sensitive details of your matter until the firm has confirmed in writing that it is able to act for you.
Who we share it with
We disclose personal data only where necessary, and only to:
- service providers who operate this website and process form submissions on our instructions;
- courts, regulators or public authorities, where we are required to disclose by UAE law or by a binding order;
- professional advisers and insurers of the firm, where relevant.
Our website and form providers may process data outside the UAE. Where that happens, we take reasonable steps to ensure an appropriate level of protection.
How long we keep it
Enquiries that do not lead to an engagement are retained only as long as needed to complete our conflict check and to keep a record of the enquiry, and are then deleted. Where an engagement follows, the data becomes part of the client file and is retained for the period required by UAE law and by our professional obligations. Server logs are retained for a short period by our hosting provider.
Security
This website is served over an encrypted connection, and form submissions are transmitted over that connection. No transmission over the internet can be guaranteed to be completely secure. Please do not send confidential documents until the firm confirms the appropriate secure channel.
Cookies
This website uses Plausible Analytics, a privacy-focused analytics service that does not use cookies and does not collect or store any personal data — it reports only aggregated, anonymous visit statistics. This website does not set advertising or tracking cookies. Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which means your browser makes a request to Google's servers when the page loads; Google may log your IP address as part of serving that request. No other third-party content is loaded.
Your rights
Subject to UAE law, you may ask us to give you access to the personal data we hold about you, correct it if it is inaccurate, delete it, restrict how we use it, or withdraw a consent you have given. Withdrawing consent does not affect anything we did before you withdrew it, and does not override a retention obligation imposed on us by law. To make a request, or to raise a concern about how we have handled your data, contact us using the details below. If we cannot resolve your concern, you may complain to the UAE Data Office.
Changes
We may update this policy. The date at the top of the page shows when it last changed.
